George Kennedy is an Academy Award winning American actor who portrayed Captain Ed Hocken in the Naked Gun Films, succeeding Alan North. Before this he already had Motion Picture succes by playing in films such as Cool Hand Luke, Death on the Nile and the Airport series of films. He also had recurring roles on Dallas, The Blue Knight and The Love Boat. During his career he also recieved a Motion Picture star on the Hollywood walk of fame at 6352 Hollywood Blvd. As a US Army officer in World War II, he served under General George S. Patton, who he later portrayed in 1978's Brass Target. He was married four times and had two children. He died of heart failure on the morning of February 28, 2016.
